MK TECHNOLOGIES
Privacy policy
How we handle enquiries, personal information and privacy choices.
Draft revised: 25 September 2026
These documents relate to MK Technologies. Required business disclosures and operational details remain to be completed before launch.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
MK Technologies provides cabling, networking, Wi-Fi and IT services. This notice explains the proposed handling of personal information in connection with this website and enquiries about our services.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@mktech.uk or call 01536 737399. A postal contact address must be added before this notice is finalised.
2. Information we collect
When you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, company name, postcode, property or site details, service requirements, preferred timescale and the content of our correspondence. Please only provide information relevant to your enquiry and do not send passwords or sensitive personal information through the website.
If you use the enquiry form, the details shown in its labelled fields are sent to Formspree for delivery to MK Technologies at info@mktech.uk. Formspree may retain a submission in its dashboard and send an email notification to our Fasthosts mailbox. The form does not accept file uploads or payments.
The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser details, dates and times, and security events when delivering the website. The logging and retention arrangements for the actual Cloudflare deployment still need to be confirmed.
We usually receive enquiry details directly from you. If a colleague or someone arranging work on your behalf introduces you, we may also receive the contact and project details they supply.
3. Why we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, understand the work requested, prepare quotations and arrange services. Where you are personally entering a contract, the relevant basis is taking requested steps towards that contract or performing it.
For general questions and contacts acting for a business, we rely on legitimate interests in communicating with prospective customers and running our business. Those interests must be balanced against your rights. Relevant technical records may be used on the same basis to operate and protect the website and investigate misuse.
Where required, we retain records to meet legal obligations, including accounting and tax requirements. Relevant correspondence may also be needed for legitimate interests in handling complaints or establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
Reading this notice or acknowledging it on the form is not consent to marketing. An enquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. This website does not carry out automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
You choose whether to contact us. Without sufficient contact and project details, we may be unable to respond or prepare an appropriate quotation.
5. Processing outside the UK
Cloudflare website hosting, Fasthosts email and Formspree enquiry delivery can involve processing outside the UK. The exact locations and arrangements for this deployment have not yet been confirmed. Planned Google Analytics processing may involve Google infrastructure outside the UK, including the United States. Before this notice is finalised, this section must identify any relevant international transfers and the applicable protection, such as UK adequacy regulations or an appropriate contractual safeguard, and explain how to obtain information about that protection. This draft does not claim that information stays solely in the UK.
6. How long information is kept
Information should be kept only while needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Retention is assessed by reference to whether an enquiry remains active, whether work proceeds, any ongoing support or warranty obligations, applicable accounting rules, and the need to resolve a specific complaint or legal claim.
A retention schedule for unsuccessful enquiries, customer records and technical logs must be confirmed before this notice is finalised. Once information is no longer required, it should be securely deleted or anonymised, including through the relevant backup deletion cycle.
7. Keeping information secure
Access to personal information should be limited to people and providers who need it for their work, using appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. No internet service is entirely risk-free. Please contact us promptly if you believe information sent to us has been compromised. Specific provider and security arrangements must be checked before launch.
9. Your information rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may ask to access your information, correct it, erase it, restrict its use or receive it in a portable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.
These rights are not absolute. For example, some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations. Send a request to info@mktech.uk. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. We will explain the outcome and respond within the applicable legal timescale, normally one month; if a permitted extension applies, we will tell you.
10. Privacy complaints
You can make a data protection complaint by emailing info@mktech.uk, or by calling us if you need help putting your concerns in writing. Please explain what happened and the outcome you are seeking.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed and explain the outcome. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit the ICO complaints page for details.
11. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our use of information or the website changes. The revision date appears at the top of the page. If a material change affects information already held, we will provide any further notice required by law.
